La Sardegna in Campervan

rent a campervan in Sardinia: campersardinia.com

english language, camper sardinia (by Google Translate)

Sardinia is different, different from the rest of the world, also different for the inhabitants, divided by zones and colonized by different historical ethnic groups. The language itself also changes between its countries, which retain their own dialects.   Silence, respect and curiosity are enough to experience Sardinia: walking among the Sardinian countries. Sardinia is a hard and wise land and manages to preserve itself over time. There is yet to be seen Sardinia where the patronal and rock festivals are celebrated, where the ancient trades resist (there is a famous review, and it is called Cortes Apertas); you can visit the houses and shops, the ancient knowledge, and flavors (http://sardiniaboutique.blogspot.it).

• Know Sardinia before leaving in campervan

Sardinia can be chosen both to stay on the beach and to see museums, dumus de janas, dolmens, giants' tombs, nuraghic villages (more suitable for cheerful and relaxed families); but also for outdoor sports: climbing, caving, kayaking (for example in the river Cedrino), trekking almost all over the island and canyoning (perhaps among the longest, suggestive and panoramic: canyon Pentumas in Oliena ). Before leaving in the camper it is also useful to know that this land is rich in water, there are fountains in almost all countries. The campers sometimes manage to get close to the sea (for example in the beach of Sas Linnas Siccas, fraction of Orosei), in many cases you do not pay anything, in many others (and especially in the summer) you pay the parking. The summer season ends in October (but in Sardinia the weather is always good), an ideal month, both for the climate and for the fact that there are fewer tourists. The sea, then, great resource for this land, gives good fresh fish all year round, I recommend the typical dishes of the many coastal areas (for example, do not miss the fregola, a typical first). In the hinterland, however, products of shepherds and farmers abound, even here every area has its specialties. Do not miss the famous roast suckling pig, the only dairy products (for example sa vrughe, a typical barbagia dessert) bread, oil, honey, wine, sweets that sometimes become real works of art ( via www.youtube.com).

• A particularly beautiful and interesting itinerary for the first day The most beautiful itinerary to be recommended is on the road, with your camper on the eastern Sardinian road that crosses a piece of the Supramonte, between limestone, granite, oak woods, and in particular that stretch that connects the town of Orosei and its long beaches with the delicious Santa Maria Navarrese, a hamlet of the village of Baunei. It is a very tortuous and scenic route, and it is typical to see groups of motorcyclists in spring, especially Germans and French, sway with their two wheels among the many curves that characterize it. It alternates mountain landscapes, rugged and untouched beaches sometimes deserted and rustic, typical of the island, surrounded by junipers and badgers forged by the wind. Enchants also the tip Cusidore, and all the ridge of walls that goes from Punta sos Nidos, to Oliena, up to the sources of Su Gologone, (where among other things the camper is free and the water is always fresh and abundant) . With its 400 meters of development, Cusidore, is a limestone rock wall, much loved by its inhabitants who cultivate at its feet the vine and the olive tree. It is also famous among climbers, speleologists and hikers from all over the world. Behind Punta Cusidore there is also a beautiful valley: the Lanaitho valley (or Lanaitto), which looks like the grand canyon of Verdon.
